I didn't get to purchase what I came in search of because they didn't have the size I need. I just wanted to give a shout out to Mr. Jaime at the front of the store for always being so nice and helpful. I also want to recognize an employee who went above and beyond, and that person is Mandy. Mandy not only walked me over to the item I was in search of, she took me to a few different types, I advised the other ones were a bit too pricey for me at this time, but I'll probably be back more than likely at a later time to get one. The item I wanted wasn't available in my size, and she went on her handheld to see if they had larger sizes that could be ordered online and delivered, but they didn't have larger sizes. Mandy advised that there is an actual store of the brand of the item I was searching for, where it was located and how to get there. Mandy is five star customer service! KUDOS! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Will love to share my review. We went to pick up a gun that was on delay ( which wasn’t bad ) felt like we waited longer to pick up the gun then the delay. They guys were just talking about their personal life and holding up guns playing with them ( talking about zombies) which was very creepy to me def when we standing right in front of them. They did not show me the gun until the manger asked them and they said no. Felt like it took way longer than it should… Very rude and unprofessional.

I never have had a problem with this location. I'm an avid fisherman and this is a good alternative to Cabelas. Their H2O lures are affordable and effective as well but Culprit worms are my favorite! Go buy the red ones you'll thank me later

So, today I visited the store to get a birthday gifts for my uncle. I shopped for about 20 minutes to purchase a fishing rod and tackle box when I got to the register I realized I didn’t have my wallet. I then asked the cashier if I could run back to my car and get my wallet. In a very nasty and abrupt tone, she dismissively looked at me and told me “yeah you can get it but you’re gonna need to get back in line.” I proceeded to ask her again because I was shocked at her demeanor and tone and she said “get back in line” with no eye contact pointing at the line. Rather than argue with this disgusting individual (Erica) I went back to my car got my wallet and came back in. I got the items and got back in line. The gentlemen (Kyle) who rang me up was polite and kind. So I asked what the protocol was if a customer leaves their wallet in the car. He thought that my wallet was in the car and told be to run back out to get it and he would wait to finish the transaction. I exampled t my precious encounter with his coworker and that I needed to speak with a manager. The logistics manager Michael Smith explained that she could have waited. She clearly chose not to and lacks customer service skills I stated. I pray Academy Sports and its management has a conversation with this unprofessional women who clearly has no people skills and is definitely not an effective communicator. My hat goes off to Kyle, as he seems to understand what patience and quality customer service means.

Clean and organized location! Although I've made 3-4 visits in the past 6 months, they always had what I needed. The store wasn't crowded.

Ordered a handgun today which was a Ruger 380 acp on the website along with 2 boxes of ammo. They had the gun in stock, along the ammo. It takes sometime to complete the ATF paperwork which is to be expected. They gave me a tablet which asks all relevant questions pertaining to the ATF paperwork. The whole process took less than 45 minutes and I am very happy with Academy and the ease in which I was able to purchase a great gun at a fair price.

I love going to Academy Sports, they always have have great deals and plenty of choices of merchandise. This is first time going to Rock Hill store, their shelves were full, deals throughout the store, but when it came time to checkout, they only had 1 checkout line open with around 20+ people standing in line waiting and multiple employees in the store. I ask some staff why only 1 checkout line open on a Saturday night and this close to Christmas and their response was they were shortstaffed and only had 1 cashier scheduled to work on a Saturday night at 7 o'clock 2 weeks from Christmas. In my opinion this is unexcusable. For this reason I only give the Rock Hill store 1 star. When we finally got to the register, a manager showed up and quickly got multiple registers going after customers had been waiting in line 15+ minutes. Damage had already been done by then...
