Good (not great) TEX MEX … service was fantastic worth a try.

I appreciate you asking what would make it great … my rating was dropped a star because of the enchiladas sauce… tastes like canned maybe just a bad day because my wife is vegan and y’all made an amazing dinner special for her. We will try again

Let me start by saying I’ve been frequenting this restaurant for the better part of 9 years. Such hit and miss with the quality of food and service. Recent attempt to order from over the phone, I was told kitchen closed early. Wow. The last straw was no hot sauce with 8 breakfast taco order and when I called to ask what happened with my pick up order, they told me hot sauce was by REQUEST only. That left me to take my business elsewhere and I can only hope more restaurants with good food and service open in this area. Such a shame they can’t get it right…

Updating my review to a 3/5 star because of the review response; we appreciate it. We might try Las Barcas again in the future and hope the quality of the ingredients in their breakfast tacos is better if we do.

OG Review, slightly updated: The bacon on the breakfast tacos we received was very poor quality. No salsa is included on their to-go orders, so be sure to ask for some. They charge an automatic 10% tip on to go orders then ask for another tip on top of it.

I wanted to give a huge shout out to the lady who works at the window. She is there majority of the time but I’m horrible with names. Our call disconnected and she called me back so I could place a to go order. She always is complimenting and friendly. I got tacos for daughter’s birthday and she wrote happy birthday on the bag. It made my daughter’s day and it was such a thoughtful gesture! Your kindness doesn’t go unnoticed!

I don't understand the 4-star rating, 4-star reviews. This is Tex-Mex, not your Tia's kitchen.

Food was great! Service was fantastic!! Slow when we came in, which was fine by us... the Horchata... oh geez. Soooo goooood!! Homemade Horchata beats the hell out of the mass produced, bags of who-knows-what from bigger restaurants. So good I got one to-go.

We'll be back for sure!

This is the best Mexican food in Comal county! We are absolutely bonkers for their breakfast tacos. Fresh ingredients, prepared with such care. We always have special orders and they get them right every single time! Crystal is an amazing manager and cares about customer satisfaction..it shows in everything they do. This is my happy place. 🙂

Table service was good but the kitchen messed up the order and took well over 20 minutes to redo it. They comped the meal without us asking them to which was nice. The chimichanga was good, chips were fresh, salsa was hot with a good flavor. Didn’t care for the seasoning on the fajita meat but the portion size was good.

Food was not authentic Mexican food. Guacamole was out of a box or at least it definitely tasted like it. There was only 1 waitress serving and she seemed overwhelmed. The owner should hire at least one more waitress and also buy real fresh avocado's. Food tastes so much better when you make it same day.
