Fishman Fabrics was one of the most wonderful places in Chicago and is not something you can find anywhere. They really have an excellent selection of fabrics but their staff is not only kind but completely knowledgeable on textiles and sewing which is a dying art in the US.

I went to the store to find fabric for some curtains to make for family before returning to Vienna where I live. We rushed on an order and they were able to get the fabric in sooner than anticipated. Nothing but wonderful experience here

Fantastic selection of very high quality fabrics and some of the most knowledgeable staff I've had the pleasure of interacting with at a fabric store.

I primarily buy for cosplay and while they may not be as cheap as joanns, you're absolutely getting a better value here with how good the stuff is.

This should be your first stop for anything you're trying to source.

This is the best fabric store. I have shopped fabrics in New York and Europe. I always find interesting and unique fabrics at Fishman's Fabrics. The owner and sales people have the ability to get fabrics from overseas in a couple of days when needed. All of the people who work there are talented and knowledgeable.I have been shopping here since the 80's. It has always been top for quality, service and selection.

What a store! This store is organized, clean, and has a HUGE selection! Even though I was making a small purchase, (to reupholster my kitchen chairs and stools, ) the owner Gregg, took his time with us and helped us choose the perfect fabric for our project. There are walls and walls of beautiful Italian fabric. Before visiting Fishman’s went all over searching for fabric, and could not find anything that we liked. Fishman’s had many many choices with fabrics to accommodate different budgets. We left very very happy with our choice. Definitely recommend visiting this store. Thank you Gregg!

He was very helpful, knew immediately what I needed, and was very helpful for color selection. He cut to my needs and even brought it out to my car. Wonderful experience! They were very knowledgeable in their fabrics. We drove from 3 hours away to get materials for the veil for my wedding. The lady who was working with us was wonderful (although regrettably I cannot remember her name!). They even offered to ship what they didn't have in store to my house for free! Would recommend for anyone, especially people who don't know much about fabric (like myself)

The selection is wonderful and diverse. From fabric to accessories what an array. The prices as well. You can find bolts of clearance to fine fabrics that are priced $300.00 a yard. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Understably they are busy so sometimes you have to wait a few minutes.

My Mother turned me on to Fishman's Fabrics. She made her going away outfit for her wedding from their array. That was from 1955, wow and still remaining strong in business. What a great story.
